On "Why Your Building's Address Was Never Meant to Be Its Identity"

This is overthinking a real problem that doesn't need a standard to solve. A building has an address—contractors show up there, invoices go there, permits reference it. What actually matters on the job is knowing which boiler, which zone, which unit you're working on, and that's a data problem inside the facility management system, not a crusade for a new identity layer. If GIIS is pushing facility ops to think harder about asset tagging and equipment lifecycle tracking instead of loose spreadsheets, fine—but selling it as a revolution in "infrastructure identity" when the real work is just better records and cross-referencing is standard consultant framing.
